I hope in the near future solar panels are placed on the roofs of most buildings once they become very cheap to produce. Its high time we stop polluting because otherwise, we will all be screwed and I fear its too late already. uhg

that looks like an old c-band satellite mount, is it? if it is, the elevation and even declination should be pretty easy to adjust. If you split the difference between the highest and lowest azimuth of the sun, you can get maximum exposure without having to continuously adjust your azimuth. if it were a polar mount with a tracking motor, you could set it up to literally track the sun from dawn to dusk. this is an excellent idea, thanks for sharing it…

Dude, wonderful vid …
Dude, wonderful vid, and great concept of saving money to better the planet… but, the angle of your apparatus is ridiculously steep looking. It looks like 65 to 70 degrees from horizon, and unless you live near the poles and they rotate, that’s real inneficient. They’ll better perform at your latitude and time of year with calcs that are online but for dec21 I think it’s something like: your lat *.9 +30 = angle of panels from horizon. Awesome though, keep it up.
It is very high. …
It is very high. Stock price for 1 solar panel is $800, but to build 1 yourself you need less than $100.
